PVEP JOINS THE OIL & GAS WORKSHOP AND MEETS WITH PARTNERS IN JAPAN

From 16th – 23rd February 2020, PVEP delegation led by Dr. Tran Hong Nam -Chairman of the Board, had a business trip to Japan to attend the Workshop of "Building Petroleum Capacity on Energy Security 2020" organized by Japan National Agency for Oil, Gas and Metals (JOGMEC).

The Delegation included Vice President Nguyen Thien Bao, Vice President Vu Minh Duc and Heads of functional Divisions of PVEP.
As ASCOPE General Secretary, Chairman Tran Hong Nam attended the workshop of “Building Petroleum Capacity on Energy Security 2020" to share knowledge, experience and emergency response solutions with Japan oil reserves in particular and the International Energy Association (IEA) in general for strengthening energy security in Southeast Asian countries (ASEAN). During the workshop, Dr. Tran Hong Nam presented an update on the implementation of the ASEAN Petroleum Security Agreement (APSA). This is an agreement signed between ASEAN countries to enhance energy security in the region. Dr. Nam also chaired a group discussion with many scenarios of energy security emergency to one or more ASEAN members.

At the working sessions, PVEP and Partners shared openly about short-term and long-term orientations as well as opportunities for cooperation in oil and gas exploration projects in Vietnam and other countries. As long-time investors in Vietnam, JX NOEX and Idemitsu have affirmed their plans to continue promoting existing projects in Vietnam and seek for new projects. Meanwhile, JOGMEC - a potential partner of PVEP not only in domestic projects but also with important projects in foreign countries, also said it is always ready to deploy activities as well as sponsor Japanese companies to continue carry out the research of oil & gas exploration and production in Vietnam.
