On December 10, 2018, in Hanoi, PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) held a ceremony to appoint the new two Vice Presidents, Mr. Pham Xuan Son and Mr. Vu Minh Duc.

Attending the ceremony, from Vietnam Oil & Gas Group (PetroVietnam) were Dr. Phan Ngoc Trung – Member of Board of Directors, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Thap – Vice President; for PVEP were Dr. Tran Hong Nam – Chairman, Dr. Tran Quoc Viet – President & CEO and other leaders from the Party Committee, Board of Directors, Executive Board and functional Divisions.

In line with the implementation of PVEP's restructuring scheme as well as meeting current practical requirements in the professional fields, PVEP's Board of Directors decided to appoint Mr. Pham Xuan Son - Former Director of the Science Research & Engineering Institute (Vietsovpetro) and Mr. Vu Minh Duc, former Director of PVEP-Algeria to hold the position of Vice Presidents of PVEP.

At the ceremony, PVEP also announced the decision to appoint Mr. Cao Huu Binh - former Vice President of PVEP to Director of Project 01/97 & 02/97.

Mr. Pham Xuan Son and Mr. Vu Minh Duc thanked leaders of PVN and PVEP for entrusting the responsibility and expressed the desire to receive support to fulfill their new assigned mission; they commit to promote enthusiasm, wisdom to help PVEP overcome all difficulties and sustainable development.

On behalf of PetroVietnam, Vice President Nguyen Quoc Thap congratulated Mr. Pham Xuan Son and Mr. Vu Minh Duc. Dr. Thap strongly believe that the new two Vice Presidents will make efforts to adapt and complete tasks at a new level, in the context of PVEP as well as PVN are facing difficulties in increasing reserves and declining production output. In addition, these challenges are an opportunity for the new leaders to express their bravery, intellect and boldness to set new directions for PVEP's exploration and production activities as well as solving the problems that exist in the specialized field, together with the PVEP collective to set out key solutions to help the Company fulfill the immediate tasks and long term.
