PETROVIETNAM APPOINTS TOP MANAGEMENT OF PVEP

In May 2021, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) appointed the high-ranking management of PetroVietnam Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP) by Decisions that are effective from 12 May 2021.

Accordingly, Dr. Tran Hong Nam will hold the positions of President & CEO and Member of the Board of Directors; Dr. Tran Quoc Viet is appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors; and Dr. Trinh Viet Thang – former GM of General Affairs Division (PVN) is appointed as Member of the Board of Directors of PVEP. This is as an important and necessary addition for PVEP Board of Directors to handle a huge workload in the role of the owner representative at the Corporation.

After consolidating, PVEP Board of Directors includes Dr. Tran Quoc Viet – Chairman and 3 Members: Dr. Tran Hong Nam, Mr. Dinh Trong Huy and Dr. Trinh Viet Thang. The Executives Board includes Dr. Tran Hong Nam – President & CEO and 6 Vice Presidents: Mr. Hoang Ngoc Trung, Mr. Nguyen Thien Bao, Dr. Dang Ngoc Quy, Mr. Vu Minh Duc, Mr. Ngo Khanh Xa and Mr. Hoang Xuan Duong.

Dr. Tran Hong Nam and Dr. Tran Quoc Viet were appointed by the Group to be the top management of PVEP in April 2018. Recent years, the Oil & Gas Industry and the exploration and production sector in particular were heavily influenced by the world oil price downturn crisis followed by the Covid-19 pandemic that caused oil prices to fall deeply. With the solidarity and consensus of the staffs, Dr. Nam and Dr. Viet, together with the board of management have led PVEP to overcome the difficult time with many remarkable achievements: Stabilizing business activities; ensuring absolute safety and exceed the annual production output target. The restructuring the Corporation from the executive apparatus to all projects has been drastically implemented and achieved obvious results. The operations financial management have been enhanced with synchronous solutions, helping to ensure PVEP's operational and developing foundations, especially in the context of Covid-19 pandemic continued to have negative affection on the demanding for crude oil, as well as a great challenge from the trend of energy conversion in the world.

Currently PVEP still maintains safe and stable operations, exceeding all business targets in April 2021. Specifically, the output in April reached 0.3 million tons of oil equivalent, equal to 111% of the monthly plan. In which, oil and condensate production reached 0.21 million tons (115%), gas output for sale reached 90 million m3 (102%). Generally, the total oil and gas output reached 1.2 million tons of oil, reaching 105% of the 4-month plan. Total revenue reached more than 2.2 trillion (142%); State budget contribution reached 627 billion (158%). By the end of April 2021, total revenue reached more than VND 8.8 trillion (135%); State budget contribution reached nearly 2.3 trillion VND (143%).
