On 05/11/2016, the field guard ship of Lam Son Joint Operating Company (Lam Son JOC) engaged in supporting the successful rescue of fishermen's fishing vessel threatened to sink in violent wind and wave near Thang Long - Dong Do Field, Block 01/97 & 02/97.

At 6h50 am on 05/11, receiving the search and rescue information from the Marine Search and Rescue Coordination Centre for Region III (Vung Tau MRCC) on the incident that the fishing vessel number BD 99939 TS was sinking at a location with coordinates near Thang Long - Dong Do Field, the Emergency Response Steering Committee of Lam Son JOC immediately notified the field guard ship SeaMeadow 08 that it should quickly move to the location of the vessel in distress and be ready to rescue and support the fishermen.
At 11h18, the field guard ship SeaMeadow 08 managed to reach the coordinates of the ship in distress according to the original message. In addition, the watch-keeping and emergency channel at frequency 7903 kHz constantly updated the location of the fishing vessel. By 12h24, the field guard ship managed to approach the fishing vessel in distress, eliminate the uncertainties and dangers that might occur to the fishermen on board at the time.

At the same time, the Coast Guard vessel CSB9001 also arrived at the location of the vessel in distress. When field guard ship and Coast Guard vessel approached, the fishing vessel had not sunk completely, but had been skewed and the water had swamped the basement and deck, where 08 fishermen had been awaiting rescue.
Due to bad weather conditions, the field guard ship SEAMEADOW 08 was tasked with getting ready to support the rescue work, while Vessel CSB9001 approached the fishing vessel and rescue all the fishermen. By 15h00 on the same day, all the fishermen were taken aboard CSB9001 in stable condition. The care and rescue of fishermen and the vessel in distress continued to be conducted by the Coast Guard Vessel.
By 19h00 on the same day, the ship SeaMeadow 08 arrived back at Thang Long - Dong Do Field to continue working.
Earlier, on 01/10, the drilling rig DH-01 also received the call and successfully rescued 1 fisherman in distress at sea and took him ashore safely.
PVEP's quick and ready engagement in rescue operations at sea when receiving emergency information and signal from related bodies of oil and gas projects offshore Vietnam has shown a sense of responsibility and the rushing into help despite danger of the staff of PVEP and the oil and gas sector in ensuring maritime security and supporting, staying alongside with fellow fishermen and sea forces to control and protect each water meter of the sacred territorial waters of the country. Each oil and gas field cluster offshore is also the solid prop for fishermen at sea to be reassured to cling to ships and sea to bring back full ships of silver fish for more prosperous life.
